When Janet was 5 yrs. old, her Mother placed her in a dance class with four girls. Their teacher was an Isadora Duncan protégé and they were taught to improvise to nature. This was the beginning of Janet’s life as a Dancer, 7 decades so far!
Working in the fields of fitness and health, certificates were earned: American Council on Exercise ACE Personal Trainer, ACE Behavioral Change Specialist; Certified Nursing Assistant, CNA; Home Health Aide, HHA; and Restorative Nursing Assistant, RNA. In 2008, Janet began to study Somatic movement techniques developed by Thomas Hanna and became a member of the Association for Hanna Somatic Education. She teaches Creative Movement grounded in this practice at Memory Care Communities.
Her powerful imagination is her primary tool helping people with Alzheimer’s and Dementia let go of their stress and move in comfort. She invites you to share a special version of this class designed for our Association. We’ll call it “Chair Care 2.0”.
This event is presented by the HSE Learning Community and hosted by Ryan Moschell. It is open to all AHSE Members.
